VEILED REVELATIONS challenges our instinctive ways of interpreting the world. At its core lies a simple but critical premise: first impressions deceive, offering only a superficial glimpse of a reality that is usually far more nuanced, layered, and difficult to grasp than it first appears. Passive headline-reading without pausing to question or digging deeper breeds simplistic, often erroneous conclusions, the kind that quietly perpetuate misinterpretations and allow issues to go unresolved or worsen.

Each painting evolves through a layered concealment process akin to placing delicate veils at every stage of creation. Paint is added then partially scraped away; marks are made and partly erased, texture built and slightly covered up. These acts of addition and erasure become a visual metaphor for how truth is buried beneath assumptions, recoverable only through resolve and sustained critical thinking. At first glance, works appear muted, elusive, their surfaces resisting immediate clarity, all ambiguities the artist fully intended.

Only through sustained attentive gaze do the subtler details start to emerge. What lies beneath the surface is revealed only to those who look with care. People different from us, other cultures, foreign conflicts, all carry histories and complexities that resist easy summary. Denied our full attention they will remain shrouded under a veil of half-truths and misunderstandings.
